Urban Foraging: How to find wild food.

Get back to your native roots--learn how to forage safely and sustainably with Hike4Life!

Foraging, also known as Wild Crafting, is the ability to find, identify and safely prepare wild edible foods that are not sold in traditional food stores.

Being able to "find your food" is an important skill that has many benefits. Wild edibles are typically healthier than most produce at your local supermarket. It's a survival skill; you'll never go hungry once you learn how to forage from the land. It's fun, educational and builds up your immune system. Teach a person to forage and they'll never go hungry.

Hike4Life, in partnership with the Urban Farming Institute, hosts Urban Foraging classes at the Boston Nature Center. Classes will resume in 2018.
